Free climbing

In our region, the area between Finale, Albenga and Toirano with Val Pennavaire is one of the richest of Europe for cliffs (rock walls equipped to climb): offers almost 5.000 "routes" of climbing.

Sailing
Sailing is a unique experience: the contact with nature, the exhilaration of adventure and the taste of freedom give unique sensations.
In the Ligurian Riviera di Ponente you can rediscover the pleasure of sailing on a sailing boat, to go back to discover the hidden bays and the more intact sea. Pratically in all seaside resorts there are, in fact, a sailing school or yacht club where you can rent for a few hours or a full day every type of boat.
In sailing - schools, thanks to a mixture of theory and practice, the secrets of navigation in complete autonomy and security will be at your disposal.

Windsurf
Throughout the year in Liguria there are waves high and full of energy, giving rise to a fascinating spectacle to be admired from the beaches of the Riviera.
Wonderful waves for fans of windsurfing and kitesurf are in Ventimiglia and Sanremo: here, in particular, the wave that is generated in the bay is more sweet and suitable for beginners. But there is also the beach of Alassio, and in Pietra Ligure the waves that break on a backdrop of sand and rock are fun and equally little crowded. Very crowded, however, are the waves of Varazze, about half an hour's drive from Genoa.

Diving
Every color nuances hide a silent and rich life both a few metres from the coast and offshore, where we can often encounter bays easily accessible. Both for those who prefer the exploration of fish that for fans of wrecks and archaeological finds, sea-beds let a wide choice. The marine parks, Bergeggi and Gallinara and that one in Loano allow diving in environments totally protected and uncontaminated.
The numerous diving centers organize guided tours and PADI courses with entertainment programs specially designed for fun and safety of diving enthusiasts who want to turn the sea into a genuine passion.
The waters of the Riviera are therefore perfect for any type of underwater activities, from diving, for fishing or just for the simple observation of the seabed, until the descent with the cylinders for the study of marine flora and fauna.

The paragliding is the absolute lightest and simplest mean enabling man to fly.
The flight of paragliding, which provides take-off from hills without the phase of free fall, is decidedly more accessible than parachute.
Here we offer you some of the most spectacular take-offs in the area: Bergeggi, Varigotti and Finale Ligure, Monte Pisciavino and Puerta del Sol of Alassio, Monterosso.

Trekking
To fully enjoy the natural beauty that offers Liguria (Riviera di Ponente) there's nothing better than allow yourself day trips, trekking, hiking and nature stays immersed in colors and scents that combine in a unique way the sea and the land of this part of Liguria.
Landscapes and territories are protected through protected zones that enhance the complexity and help to safeguard the present natural and cultural assets.
Liguria has got a route like the Alta Via dei Monti Liguri that, with its approximately 440 km of development and connecting routes, goes through environments and landscapes that reflect the characteristics of the region.
The trekking routes offer the best here at any time of year: excursions in the middle of winter in fragrant Mediterranean vegetation and pleasant summer walks in the shadow of wide pine and beech forests of mountains behind.
Hiking itineraries in Liguria are infinite, each with its own particularities: historic, natural, zoological or as often happens all gathered in the same trek.
A wide proposal of routes, suitable for family outing and for most trained, perhaps by following one of the many practical guides published.
You can spend whole days climbing and descending the highlands of the Riviera, looking for unusual landscapes or traces of history along the paths carved in the stone and still intact, all in the route of the Via dei Monti Liguri.
Among the most fascinating trips do not forget the nature Park of Piani d’ Invrea, Beigua, the Park of Portofino, Piana Crixia, the Park dell'Aveto and the Park of Antola.

Riding and horse trekking in Liguria
The hinterland of Liguria di Ponente is perfect to satisfy the fans of horse riding, with its equipped paths crossing throughout the province. The Riviera Ligure offers landscapes and interesting itineraries for those who love horse riding and special facilities that offer assistance and services both for English and American techniques.
The horse represents many things: mean of "transport" completely respectful of the environment, a « right » observation point to get many interests that country offers, an ancient tradition of collaboration between man and horse in agriculture. And emotions that can givet excursions on horseback are not easily forgettable!
The many riding schools allow anyone to spend an enjoyable day back from the plains of the coast until shady beech groves of the hinterland, where you can follow the course of one of the many streams that cut the forests and stop for refresh yourself at crystalline water wet . It's an emotion to try to be completely immersed in nature, with the scents of the ground that melt with those of the sea, visible from some sudden insight, and rising back the valleys towards enchanting villages immersed in olive groves.
Throughout the region riding courses for beginners are organized, through collective and individual lessons, dedicated both to adults as well as young people who want to know the world of horses.
Horse riding centres then organize horse trekking (one hour or more) : from promontories and hills that overlook the Gulf of Riviera di Ponente you can admire most suggestive landscapes of Liguria!
